Remember the Love is a collection of etchings from photographs taken by Denver-based photographer Michael Rieger in 2001, when he documented the immediate aftermath of the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City for six weeks in his capacity as an official FEMA photographer. Rieger pairs each image with a written narrative that further adds to the documentary nature of his photography. As a whole body of work, Remember the Love tells stories of resilience and how we find a way through destruction and disaster by helping each other heal.

Remember the Love is on view at the CU Denver Experience Gallery from August 27-September 27, 2026. Join us for an opening reception on August 27, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 pm.
